You can gift a paid book to anyone — even someone who doesn't have a Foodie Moiety account yet.

How to send a gift

1. Go to the detail page of any paid book on the website
2. Click the Gift this Book button
3. Enter the recipient's email address
4. Optionally add a personal message
5. Click Send Gift

If you are the book's creator, the gift is free — no payment required. You can give copies of your own book to friends, family, or reviewers at no cost.

If you are not the creator, you'll go through the normal checkout process to pay for the book. The creator earns the same amount as any other sale.

What happens next

• The recipient receives an email with a Redeem Your Gift link
• If they already have a Foodie Moiety account, they can sign in and redeem with one click
• If they don't have an account, they can create a free one during the redemption process
• After redemption, the book appears in their Purchased Books and is available in the desktop app

Gift details

• Gifts never expire — the recipient can redeem at any time
• Anyone with the link can redeem — if the recipient wants to forward the gift to someone else, the link will work for whoever clicks it first
• Each gift code is one-time use — once redeemed, it can't be used again
• Reminders are sent automatically — if the gift hasn't been redeemed after 30 days and again at 90 days, both you and the recipient will receive a reminder email

Checking gift status

You can see the status of all gifts you've sent on your Account page in the Gifts Sent section. Each gift shows:

• The book title
• The recipient's email
• Whether the gift is Pending or Redeemed
• The date it was sent

Redeeming a gift you received

If someone gifted you a book:

1. Open the Redeem Your Gift link from the email
2. Sign in or create a free account
3. Click Redeem Now
4. The book is added to your library — download the desktop app to view it

If you use the desktop app, gifted books will also appear as a download prompt when you launch the app.
