Browsing the community
The desktop app includes a built-in community browser where you can discover, preview, and download recipes and books published by other users.
Switching to Community View
- Click the Community button in the recipe list to browse published content
- Click it again to return to your local library
Searching and Filtering
Find content using the tools at the top of the community view:
- Search bar -- search by keywords in titles and descriptions
- Tag filter panel -- filter by topic tags
- Cuisine filter -- narrow results to a specific food tradition
Previewing Content
Click any item to open a full preview before downloading. The preview includes:
- Description and metadata
- Ingredients list (for recipes)
- Table of contents (for books)
- Tags for quick topic identification
- Price (for paid books)
This lets you fully evaluate content before deciding to download or purchase.
Downloading Free Content
- Click Download on any free recipe or book
- The content is imported into your local library
- It opens automatically so you can start using it right away
Purchasing Paid Books
- The book's price is displayed on the listing
- Click Buy to begin the checkout process
- Complete payment through Stripe
- After purchase, the book is downloaded and imported to your library
Note: Purchased books cannot be re-exported as files.
