Adding images and videos

Attach photos and videos to your recipes to bring each step to life.

Adding Images

  • The intro step has a main image that appears as a full-screen background
  • Each cooking step can have its own image

To add an image:

  1. Enter edit mode
  2. Click the image button on the step
  3. Select an image file

Images must be 16:9 aspect ratio. If an image is larger than 1920x1080, it is automatically scaled down. All images are saved as JPEG at quality 85 to keep file sizes manageable -- your original file is never modified.

Adding Videos

Videos can be attached at two levels:

  • Intro level -- a chef's introduction to the recipe
  • Step level -- technique demonstrations for individual steps

To add a video:

  1. Enter edit mode
  2. Click the video button on the step
  3. Select a video file -- must be MP4 format with H.264 encoding

Videos play in a dedicated in-app player.
